If a course is cancelled due to COVID, Berkeley Study Abroad (and UCEAP, if applicable) will do its best to welcome you to another course at this time. Although we hope that all the study abroad programs we provide will work as expected, health, safety and travel conditions may change, and UMD may cancel programs at any time. As students prepare for the next semester overseas, EA encourages students who have not yet been approved through the above-mentioned petition process to continue enrolling in their courses for the spring semester courses at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. We recommend that all students wait for further instructions during class before leaving before planning a trip. Students are encouraged to schedule the Fall 2021 Overseas Semester in Rome at the JFRC, but by June 15, 2021, they will be notified of the final plans to open the campus. AU Abroad is advancing courses in specific countries/regions in the fall of 2021, and is processing student applications for study abroad in the spring of 2022. Overseas education consultants are always ready to help students choose courses that meet their academic, financial and personal needs. IES Abroad currently plans to open many of our courses this fall, and we encourage students to consider transferring to another course in the fall of 2021.





As a special exception, students holding senior first semester status in Fall 2022 or Spring 2023 will be able to study abroad for one semester if it is not the last semester of enrollment. Middlebury students who voluntarily drop out of study abroad and wish to study on campus in the spring semester will be placed on a waiting list for re-enrollment for the spring semester (and J-semester, if applicable).






In mid-December, the University of Washington's overseas programs will decide whether the spring overseas programs will continue as planned, amid growing concerns over the omicron option. Overseas study at the university has been suspended as students were sent home while studying for spring 2020 programs due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. UNC Charlotte currently intends to offer personal overseas programs for Spring 2022 in countries that meet certain criteria.
